Department of Advertising (DAV)

The department are strive to produce graduates with theoretical and industry knowledge with hands-on professional skills. In line with UTAR vision to be a global university of educational excellence with transformative societal impact, graduates will be focusing on critical and conceptual thinking to solve marketing and communications problems. To date, all 12 lecturers from the department are committed to offer their knowledge and industry experience through interactive learning and teaching approaches.

Programme Offered

Bachelor of Communication (Honours) Advertising

This programme aims to produce professionals who are equipped with cutting-edge knowledge in the field and who are able to play active roles in shaping and developing the advertising industry locally and globally.

This programme provides in-depth knowledge of the advertising field, and also introduces other areas of mass communication such as public relations. Students are given a strong foundation in design, learn how to integrate the various communication tools into a corporate strategic plan, and undergo industrial training programme in advertising agencies or in the marketing/communication divisions of large organisations. In addition, students will be provided a solid foundation on the latest in multimedia communication developments.
