The Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FAS) at UTAR is a dynamic and vibrant faculty that offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. The faculty is located on the UTAR Kampar campus in Perak, Malaysia.
The Faculty of Arts and Social Science started in January 2008 to facilitate the "phase in-phase out" plan of undergraduate programmes in Petaling Jaya. The faculty in Petaling Jaya was also then known as the Faculty of Arts and Social Science.
In June 2008, under the leadership of the new CEO, the Council approved a new name for the faculty in Petaling Jaya, while the faculty in Perak takes the name of the Faculty of Arts and Social Science (FAS). Thus, currently, FAS is for the faculty in Perak while the one in Petaling Jaya is known as the Faculty of Creative Industries (FCI).
